- Examining it reveals that has 4 lights, and a maximum depth at which it works.
- The lights light up as you descend in Madness Maw Mine
- Examine again on the third level of Madness Maw Mine to discover a secret room where you can find some booze and the "left half of Curly's map". Checking the back of the map piece implies the rest of the map is with Halloway.
