- Examining it reveals that has 4 lights, and a maximum depth at which it works.
- The lights light up as you descend in Madness Maw Mine
- Examine again on second level of Madness Maw Mine to discover a secret room where you can find some booze and "left half of Curly's map". Checking the back of the map piece implies the rest of the map is with Halloway.
