Buffalo Pile
Pardner?
Could be!

You pour the Beaker of Buffalo Reanimating Fluid into the funnel and watch as it travels down all of the spirally glass tubes and stuff into the skeleton on the slab.

Buffalo x3 Bill can be resurrected at the Buffalo Pile and can become an uncontrollable combat Pardner.

He has memories of his past lives, though they are vague. His buffalo side remembers chewing on grass and his human side remembers shooting people.

Quests/Interactions

  • Collect the Buffalo Pile locker key from next to the reanimation table.
  • Unlock the locker on the right, a couple of rooms over.
  • Collect the appropriate bones from the bone shelf.
  • Make beaker of buffalo reanimating fluid.
    • Pick up an empty beaker in the room with the four vats of liquid.
    • Fill the beaker with milk, then blood, then ichor in that order.
  • Place the bones on the reanimation table.
  • Pour the reanimating fluid on the skeleton.
  • Inform Buffalo x3 Bill that he can travel with you.
  • If you haven't killed the necromancer's in Buffalo Pile Buffalo x3 Bill will (confirmed, you can directly ask him to be your pardner and he will say “hold on, I have some things to do first”, takes his gun and kills the necromancers, still gives you unlimited bones perk)
  • If you have killed the necromancers in Buffalo Pile he will say he will just roam around looking for a purpose, you can -
    • Fight him (Required Testing)
    • Offer to let him join you - Well, Sure. That sounds okay. Since you already killed the folks responsible for... this place... I guess I wouldn't mind followin' you.
  • Bill Quickly ducks down one of the hallways and comes back holding a rifle.
  • Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo Bill will now assist you in combat!

In Combat

  • Is an uncontrollable pardner that sits on the backline taking shots at enemies for damage. Like your main Pardner, death doesn't affect him after battle.
  • He will continue to follow you when you are dealing with Emperor Norton in his train heist, unlike your main pardner. (Unknown if this is a glitch or intended)
  • Deals half the current hit points (rounded down) of one enemy every turn, so the player character still has to finish them off on their own.
  • He will always target the enemy with the highest current health, and will deal half of his target's health, but still will be blocked by enemies in front of it. In this case he will deal the damage he would have done to the blocking enemy, possibly killing them. This is easily tested in the Drone Fabrication room under the Curious well, where one large El Vibrato construct is spawned on button press with 6 smaller constructs randomly around it. The larger one has the highest current health, but will frequently have an small construct in front of it, and it will take more than half of its health, or kill it if it's already low health.
